401(K) Operating System-4OS™
Our 401(K) operating system, 4OS™, is a complete system of processes that we created to where we collaborate with the plan sponsor to determine specific and measurable goals for their plan.
The 3 Core Functions of 4OS™ is to:
- Provide a path to financial success for all participants.
- Alleviate as much of the workload from the staff who administers the plan on a daily basis
- Align with plan sponsor's corporate goals to improve their competitiveness, boost employee engagement, truly attract and retain talent.
At its core, the 4OS™ is designed to address the connection between your 401(k) plan and it's ability to attract and retain talent. Because this is a complicated relationship, we dig deeper to help you understand how the cost and time associated with the hiring process, as well as employee retention productivity can be impacted by an effective 401(k) plan. In other words, more than just helping you stay compliant in administering your 401(k) we help you quantify how your 401(k) plan can improve these important areas of operations and finance. Your ability to shorten the hiring process and retain key employees can reduce costs while improving your company's profitability.
Leveraging our background in private equity and investment banking, we've created our own business operating system (BOS) to streamline our 401(k) services. We did this to improve what we see as significant inefficiencies in the 401(k) market. We believe too many plans in the small and midsize business (SMB) space are plagued with operational inefficiencies such as having an outdated plan design, corrective distributions, deposit timing failures and the excessive time spent in handling the administration of the plan. Additionally, many plans suffer from low employee participation and contribution rates. Employees are increasingly demanding greater help with their finances but they're not getting it. That's where we step in. 401(k) plans are treated as a product that the company 'buys' as an employee benefit. We believe that a 401(k) can create real value for a company when it is integrated into the overall strategic goals of the organization, rather than a product you buy off the shelf. Most 401(k) plans are undifferentiated because no one is using them strategically. Our clients are bold, thoughtful and forward-looking. They seek to make their own path and separate from their competition. Our kindred spirit is what drives us to help them get the most value from their 401(k) plan.
Our 4OS™ is divided into two major client-facing processes that are planned, executed, measured and adjusted via our proprietary 401(k) project management (4PM™):
- Administrative (CompliancePro™ 401(K) Consulting)
- Participant (RetireReady Academy™)
When you work with us, your 401(K) plan becomes an integrated, coherent operating system. Gone are the days of reacting to administrative and regulatory tasks and employees who are ill-prepared for retirement. Our 4OS™ organizes your plan to proactively keep it's administration and employees' finances moving forward. With us, our services are clearly defined and fees are transparent.
In addition to simplifying your responsibilities, we do something that is unheard of in the retirement plan industry: we hold ourselves accountable to you and your employees. Our 4OS™ provides you with a clear understanding of the work we've done and what steps we're taking to reach the goals we set and to keep your planning running smoothly and effectively. We provide you with quarterly metrics on what we've done and documenting the successes we've had. This allows you to verify our work to help you satisfy your duty under ERISA to monitor the companies who administer your 401(k) plan and it's proof of our on-going commitment to your organization and your employees.
You invested time and money in offering a 401(k) plan and you expect results. Too often, retirement plans are viewed as an expense. There's no accountability and relevant performance metrics are hard to come by. While metrics like participation and contribution rates, retirement gap analyses, savings rate and expenses are important plan measures, they don't tell the whole story. They focus on 'plan health'. We go further and measure employee financial health and how your 401(k) impacts your hiring, retention and productivity metrices.
